No one performs better when they’re tense or stressed.

April 6th, 2015

When an individual is relaxed, focused and confident, they’ll always perform at a higher level than if they’re stressed, worried and un-confident. Many think one has to be wired in order to perform better. Not true. Think about it. If a bugler plays taps at an event and is stressed, the chance of missing a note goes up. And… would you rather have a surgeon operate on you if that doctor is stressed, or a doctor that is relaxed and focused? How about when an airliner is making an approach in rough weather – do you want the pilot to be stressed, or to be relaxed and focused?
Remember USA flight 1080? That’s the one where the plane hit a flock of birds on takeoff causing both engines to flame out. But… the pilots safely landed the plane in the Hudson River! Do you remember the common theme of the passenger interviews? Every passenger remarked on” how calm the pilot and copilot behaved.”
Can it be any different for you whether you’re making a speech, a presentation, a sales call or a job interview (which actually is a sales call?) A person that’s confident and relaxed is always more focused and always performs at a higher level. If this is what one desires, this most definitely calls for a way of thinking that is different from the thinking of the past. There needs to be a new norm.
When confronted by disappointment, a problem or uncertainty – the average person’s reflex is to stress. But stressing cuts one off from the only two problem solvers that one possesses – their imagination and creativity. Imagination and creativity are located in the subconscious mind. Hypnosis is the bridge to the subconscious mind.
If you have any interest in reinventing yourself to move past stress and to utilize your subconscious mind, give me a call.

Casual doesn’t cut it in sales or brain surgery.

March 31st, 2015

It’s your choice whether you dress for business like you are in business, or like you are a contestant on American Idol or on Entertainment Tonight. You might consider that you could be doing harm to yourself because of how others perceive you. It is an undisputable fact in human behavior that, one cannot perform in a manner that is inconsistent with how one sees themselves. In other words, if you dress casual, you will not only see yourself as casual, but you will perform in a casual manner.
How you dress impacts on how others see you and how you see yourself! If you’re a plumber it makes sense to dress like a plumber. That works out okay for everyone. But if one is a business person and one dresses like a plumber – management, your colleagues and your customers will see you as a plumber.
To be a great actor, one must “get into” their role. The actor must see them self as the character they’re playing. Charlie Sheen makes the news for his off camera behavior. Charlie Sheen is known for portraying a certain type of character, but off the screen, Charlie continues to play those characters in his personal life. The line blurs with Charlie in his mind between acting and how he lives his life. There isn’t any difference.
A thirty seven year old man came to see me at my hypnotherapy practice in Atlanta. He wanted an important position in his company. He just couldn’t understand why he and his ideas weren’t being taken seriously by the senior management . I asked him “what kind of work do you do.” Are you an engineer or a technician?” I was surprised when he informed me that he was in sales but he wanted to be a liaison between his company and “C” level executives with his company’s clients.
I asked him “is today your day off?” He replied he had come from work and was returning to his office. I asked him “is the way you’re dressed today your typical work attire?” He replied “Is there something wrong with it?” I asked him why at the age of thirty seven; he wore his hair in a spike hair do with a hint of fire engine red coloring on one side, sneakers, jeans and a golf shirt. He said” he had the right to dress however he wanted.” I agreed that he did have this right, but his appearance was such, that he looked like he should be working on his company’s loading dock not the executive suites. “If the CEO of your company doesn’t dress the way you do for work, why should you?” He responded that “he wanted to be cool.” He was clueless as to how to dress for business. Why would management want to trust his judgment with their clients when his judgment showed he didn’t know how to dress for business? He did not want to look the part, and since he was unwilling to change… he never got the promotion. He did get to continue making his statement, whatever that was, to the world though.
Another man of about forty two years of age, wanted to “change the direction of his life.” He was dressed very casually and had a scraggily Scooby Doo beard. He slumped in the chair and I asked him “in what way do you want to change your life?” He replied “I want something in management in my company and I would like to date sophisticated women.” I advised him “try dressing for business and you’ll notice a marked difference in how management treats you and also in your social performance.”
Performance is based on how people see themselves. When they see themselves as casual, they perform in a casual manner. Most people when they relax wear casual clothing. Again… one cannot perform in a manner that is inconsistent with how one sees themselves.
Does a man that’s between jobs, and sits around in his undershirt, shorts, a three day beard and flip flops see himself as a powerful man in business or someone that’s unemployed?
Haven’t you noticed that man or woman that is impeccably groomed and appropriately attired for their career and position, is also always on time, is also well organized, well spoken and in control of themselves?
If one’s results in business and sales are less than one desires, one might consider re inventing themselves, not just in how they dress, but in life. If that is the case, give me a call and we will help you with all of the components that you will need to succeed!

Hypnosis… the ultimate tranquilizer!

January 29th, 2015

Hypnosis is non harmful. It’s non addictive. There is no danger of overdose. There are no adverse side effects. Tranquilizers on the other hand are addictive, and the longer one takes them, the more one will require to realize the same effect. One will lose their sharpness and focus. Also, there is a distinct danger of overdose with tranquilizers, but people keep on taking them. Not only do they think that they’re beneficial, but possibly they suffer from side effects that they might not even connect back to the tranquilizer.
Everyone that has experienced hypnosis for the first time describes it as “truly wonderful,” “the most peace I’ve experienced in years,” “more relaxed that I can ever remember being”. Have you ever felt that way from a chemical tranquilizer? Of course not! Tranquilizers are designed to dull our minds – and they sure do that, but they also dull drive and motivation as well. You can’t dull one without dulling the others.
It has been repeatedly demonstrated that eight minutes in hypnosis is equivalent to about three and a half hours of really refreshing sleep. Three and a half hours! What would that do to an individual’s ability to be focused? Unlike chemical tranquilizers, an individual does not lose motivation or their ability to focus and their sharpness as a result of hypnosis.
There are no negative side effects to hypnosis. Hypnosis is not something that is done to an individual – it’s about that person allowing themselves to relax physically, to relax emotionally and allowing themselves to relax mentally. The very nature of hypnosis is tranquility, serenity and being at peace. The Alpha and Theta minds – the parts of the subconscious mind that can only be accessed deliberately through hypnosis, is where we find that serenity, tranquility and peace. All hypnosis is, is the subject allowing certain things to take place. Our Beta mind is our fully engaged conscious mind. We are not going to find serenity and tranquility there, only in our subconscious mind, and hypnosis is the bridge to the subconscious mind.
What scarier time is there than having surgery or the anticipation of having surgery? I’ve hypnotized individuals before surgery and in the OR itself during surgery with no chemical anesthesia being used! Now… if an individual can be totally relaxed, and not experience any discomfort or fear in the operating room while hypnotized, don’t you suppose that it can enable them to relax at other times as well? Like before a speech or whatever? Remember there is nothing… nothing that we can do better while we are stressed.
Individuals can also be taught self hypnosis in my practice at the Atlanta Center for Behavioral Change in Atlanta Georgia. Call me if you have any interest in relaxing without drugs!

Hypnotherapy… the ultimate in business coaching!

October 7th, 2014

My name is Bob Crow and I’m a behavioral therapist. I’m also a hypnotist that’s board certified in both clinical and medical hypnotherapy. In the course of a week, I’ll work with individuals whose presenting issues range from addictions, alcoholism, weight loss, lack of confidence, fears and phobias, IBS, Crohn’s Disease, sport and sales performance and relationship counseling. Some come specifically for life and or business coaching. But… there is also a crossover where people initially want to work on one issue, end up asking for assistance in business, sales performance and life coaching as well.

As I lecture around the country, I’m frequently asked by corporate management just why there doesn’t appear to be a long term benefit to conventional talk coaching, despite the fact that there are some really great coaches out there. It comes down to where the information is processed in the mind – the conscious or subconscious. When the data is processed in the subconscious mind, the mental imprint of this material will be conducive to permanent behavioral change.

Whether a person is listening to a speech, a tape, reading a book or going through a conventional talk only coaching session – they are processing the material in their conscious mind. But… permanent behavioral change can only take place in the subconscious mind where one finds their memory banks, habits, moods, personality and their cognitive maps. Without accessing the subconscious mind and allowing the data to be imprinted there – there will be no permanent behavioral change. Period.

Despite the fact that the average individual enters hypnosis seven to ten times a day, the only way to access the subconscious deliberately is through hypnosis as hypnosis is the bridge to the subconscious.

I’m a hypnotist. I use hypnotism because it works! Business or life coaching, unless the coach utilizes hypnotherapy, can have only short term and limited success as the conventional coach attempts to make permanent behavioral change in the conscious mind. Obviously we need to talk in order to find out what’s broke, but if talking is the only therapy, life or business coaching will not enable permanent behavioral change to be made. Permanent behavioral change will not take place in the conscious mind. Permanent behavioral change can only takes place in the subconscious mind as that’s where both good and bad habits and behaviors exist.

If you are not satisfied with your performance in any area of your life – call Bob Crow at 404.277.1827 and let’s visit about it. You might want to consider reinventing yourself!

Salespeople – are your sales sliding, sinking or sunk? Do you feel stuck?

October 6th, 2014

Many thoughts run through an individual’s mind every day. We call these thoughts – self talk. In fact studies indicate that we all experience 50 to 60 thousand of these thoughts or self talks per day. Studies indicate that 80% of these thoughts are negative. When we’re worried, when sales are off, when we’re fearful or full of doubt, these negative self talk conversations are destructive. Negative self talk is an assault on an individual, and they overwhelm one and do not enable one to be productive. It robs an individual of confidence, self assuredness and belief in one’s self. It depresses and paralyzes. It causes one to waste time in unproductive “busy work”.

This negative self talk will further depress sales. Some of the defeating self talk is:

  • What if I can’t pay my bills?
  • What if I’ve lost the ability to close business?
  • What if I get fired?

And… the list goes on and on. My name is Bob Crow. I’m a behavioral therapist. In fact I’m a hypnotist. I’m board certified in both medical and clinical hypnotherapy and I’ve been working with salespeople to improve their performance in sales and thus their income for over 25 years.

You’ve read the positive books. You’ve listened to the positive tapes. You’ve gone and heard the great speakers, you’ve memorized the slick slogans and clever closes. Yet here you are today. Why hasn’t all of that positive input had long term improvement?

It’s because the tapes, books and speeches are processed in the conscious mind. But… and this is a biggie – no one can make permanent behavioral change in the conscious mind. Period! Our personality, our habits, our moods, our memory banks are located in the subconscious mind. Our habits and when and how we do things are located in our cognitive maps and they are located in subconscious mind. And… the only way that we can access the subconscious mind deliberately is through hypnosis. As hypnosis is the bridge to the subconscious mind!

In hypnosis, we enable an individual to convert negative self talk to positive self talk which yields greatly improved performance. If you want to perform better and to excel, call me Bob Crow, for a consultation at 404.277.1827. You have nothing to lose but your negative self talk.

Why not consider a career in hypnotherapy?

August 4th, 2014

Did you know that the population of metro Atlanta is somewhere around 5,5000,000 individuals? Did you know that hypnotherapy is far more effective than conventional talk therapy? Did you know that there are probably not more than ten to fifteen full time hypnotherapists in all of Atlanta Georgia. This vital growing metropolis is under served with hypnotherapistseast inflatables Australia warehouse.
I’m Bob Crow, I’m a hypnotherapist. I’m board certified in both clinical and medical hypnosis. I was introduced to hypnotherapy because I had a weight problem that I was unable to fix with conventional diets. Actually I was very much overweight. When I politely refused a chocolate mousse on a flight to Atlanta because I was trying to lose weight, the gentlemen beside me suggested that I seek a hypnotherapist. A hypnotist? I immediately had visions of Boris Karloff movies where the evil professor placed people under his spell. He cautioned me to find one that was well qualified – not someone that took a three hour hypnosis course in a motel ballroom put on by an out-of-town promoter.
I went to a well qualified hypnotherapist and not only did I lose my excess weight and keep it off, I was so impressed that I studied hypnosis and attacked the science of hypnosis and behavioral science with a vengeance. The world has turned many times since that event long ago and I have been a full time practicing hypnotherapist.
Along with my colleague Inga Chamberlain, I am a co founder of the Atlanta Center for Behavioral Change. We also formed the Atlanta Center for Hypnosis Training.
Is your job at risk? Has or is your company considering downsizing? Are you bored with your job? I’m addressing this in large part to individuals that feel that they are at a point in life where they’re ready for a mid course correction. Maybe some wished that at some point in life they would have zigged instead of zagged!
Many attempt to become financial planners to make a living. Many! In fact of the 5.5 million people in metro Atlanta, sometimes it seems as though 5 million of them are financial planners! Multi level marketing? Well despite the stories of those that make millions doing little or no work, in actuality it’s close to impossible to maintain a sustainable income in multi level marketing. I did say sustainable. Individuals that are able to make a good income from web site design likewise are also rare.
Would you like to help others and at the same time make a good income? If so, we invite you to consider either a full time or part time career as a hypnotherapist. After completing our 200 hour intensive course, you will become certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists – the world’s largest body of professional hypnotherapists.

Weight loss… it must really be new behavior!

August 3rd, 2014

Individuals come to see me to overcome addictions, alcoholism, anger, anxiety, confidence, Crohn’s Disease and IBS, marriage counseling, PTSD, sales, career and sports performance, sleep disorders, and the list goes on – but an incredibly large percentage of them come for permanent weight loss. And… we have great success in our permanent weight loss program.

Our program for permanent weight loss has three phases and in order to achieve permanent weight loss – all three phases must be followed! One or even two won’t do it. For permanent weight loss the program must be completed.

First the individual finishes the weight loss phase. After the desired weight loss achieved – one must move into the re feeding phase. Re feeding is followed by life time maintenance. This is continuing and practicing the true behavioral changes that were accomplished during the weight loss and re feeding parts of our program.

Conventional weight loss programs fail because there is no permanent behavioral change. I hear popular radio personalities once a year, year after year extolling the virtues of this or that program. But… if those programs really worked, why do they gain their weight back each year?

One cannot continue with the same eating habits and patterns that made them heavy in the first place if they want their weight loss to be permanent, but almost all folks want to! Crazy isn’t it? If behaving a certain way towards food makes one heavy – why return to it? But with conventional diets there is no tool that enables permanent behavioral change!

Our program enables one to change their addictions to foods with the power of the subconscious mind through hypnosis. The only way that anyone can make permanent behavioral change in their eating habits is by altering the way that they relate with food in the cognitive maps of their subconscious mind.

Ever feel anxious, but don’t know why?

August 3rd, 2014

Real, actual verifiable danger is one thing. It is also something that we can to react to by our fight or flight mechanism. The flight or fight mode is that which has allowed mankind to survive. We’re not going to talk about that today. What we’re going to visit about isn’t the same thing at all. It’s that – sense of foreboding… of impending disaster… that vague uneasy feeling where we don’t know what’s wrong, where we cannot identify the source. This type of fear is often referred to as anxiety. And anxiety can often be relieved by hypnotherapy.

We all have a conscious mind and a sub conscious mind. The conscious mind is a fully engaged and analytical state. It is also called the critical mind and it reacts to stimuli through our senses. When hear our burglar alarm go off, our sense of hearing alerts us that someone has entered the house. We investigate to see whether it is family member or an intruder. We smell smoke – our sense of smell alerts us that something might be on fire so we check our house for the possible causes. A truck has crossed the center line and came into our lane and our sense of sight registers this danger and we take evasive action. All of this and more is dealt with in our conscious mind.

Worry is something else altogether. Worry is always about the future. Worry along with our memory banks, our habits, our moods and our personality abodes in our subconscious mind. Now it might interest you to know that the only way that we can access our subconscious mind deliberately is through hypnosis as hypnosis is the bridge to the subconscious mind.

Often it is helpful to find out where the root cause of the worry, the anxiousness, the sense of impending disaster and the gloom initially came. In hypnotherapy we have the tool of the Phase II Theta State, known as regression. Here the individual can go back in their memory through the help of a skilled hypnotherapist and determine the root cause of the problem and move past the offending incident.

If you are troubled by anxiousness, I invite you to call me – Bob Crow 404.277.1827 for a complimentary consultation.

Zero Tolerance – A requirement of permanent weight loss.

February 10th, 2014

We hear a lot today about “Zero Tolerance”. Frankly some of it makes no sense. A six year old boy either comes to school with a 1 ¼ inch plastic toy gun on a key chain or draws a picture of a gun and he is expelled from school. That doesn’t slightly approach common sense. But zero tolerance for harmful foods in weight loss makes a lot of sense.

Most diets last less than seventy two hours. Much less. Conventional diets continue to allow the dieter to eat foods that not only are responsible for the weight the individual gained in the first place, but actually trigger the dieter to want to eat and eat and eat – not only those foods, but other foods as well.

If one chooses to read the book Wheat Belly written by cardiologist William Davis, MD or Grain Brain written by neurologist David Perlmutter, MD, one can understand why some foods are not only harmful, but access the same neuro receptors that hard drugs do, making them want to eat more. I often make probably an overgeneralization to those that I treat for weight loss and that is, if it comes out of a bag, box or vending machine – its delays and impedes not only losing weight, but keeping it off permanently.zorb ball

So what’s the answer? The answer is don’t eat what made you heavy in the first place which was generally processed carbohydrates. They impede weight loss and one will gain back any unwanted weight. Make your credo to being slim and healthy, zero tolerance to processed carbohydrates.

I know when someone that I’m working with just doesn’t get it when they say “I just can’t wait to get down to ____weight, because then I can eat a ______. Why repeat behavior that made one heavy in the first place?

It’s a counterproductive cycle that must and can be stopped. Individuals that I work with notice that after discontinuing processed carbohydrates for generally four days – their appetite not only drops, but their desire for these foods disappears. But… if one does not have a Zero Tolerance for eliminating them from one’s diet, their desire for them will immediately return.

The bad news is that it’s next to impossible to achieve zero tolerance with the will power and discipline of the conscious mind. Zero tolerance using will power and discipline alone lasts most often under an hour. The good news is that obtaining zero tolerance with hypnosis makes it a no brainer! Why? Zero tolerance is readily achievable in the subconscious mind because hypnosis is the bridge to the subconscious. Hypnosis will enable one to go through the process of losing weight and keeping it off with zero tolerance.

My name is Bob Crow. I’m a behavioral therapist board certified in both clinical and medical hypnosis. If you would like to enlist your subconscious mind, that’s the part of your mind that’s 90% stronger than the conscious mind that you’ve been using to try to lose weight with, call me at 404.277.1827 for a no cost consultation. You can then determine if you want to lose weight the proven way with hypnosis as shown on Dr. Oz.

Going the distance – or it’s always too soon to quit!

February 5th, 2014

No matter how long it takes or how far one has to travel, if one doesn’t go the distance… the whole way… if one quits too soon, it just doesn’t matter. To win in life, one must go the distance, falling short is never acceptable.

My name is Bob Crow and I’m a behavioral therapist board certified in both clinical and medical hypnosis. As I’ve traveled North America, it’s the stories of the struggles of people overcoming obstacles that inspire me – not those that had the good life handed to them. One of the speeches that I give that’s been requested over and over again is one called Going The Distance. I’ve delivered it hundreds of times in over a quarter of a century of speaking to all kinds of organizations from civic to corporate to medical. Let me tell you about a man that inspired part of that speech. A man that despite getting off to a difficult start went the distance.

The future looked bright and promising to the college bound high school senior. But getting a girl a pregnant in the summer before he was to enter college altered his life path significantly. He went from student government to fueling trucks at a truck stop. He went from activities with his friends to stocking shelves at a grocery store. He went from mowing the grass at his parent’s home to emptying bed pans in a hospital, He and his pregnant wife lived with his parent’s while he worked one job full time and two part time jobs while going to college fulltime. His work load was so great that at the end of his first semester, he went from honor roll to academic probation.

Eventually he was able to move his family out his parent’s home and into government housing. A chance meeting with a famous individual opened some doors, but competition was tough, and he had to prove himself and his abilities. He had to acquire skills and do things that he had never done before. It was a lot of hard work, but he chose opportunity rather than security. Everything that he tried didn’t work. But he kept at it and made things happen. Many individuals though, have opportunities open to them that they never seize.

His goal in life was to make enough money so that money would never again be a consideration! It was never a matter of buying toys and keeping up with the Jones, but to be able to provide a comfortable, rewarding and an exciting life for himself and his loved ones. As his income grew, he and his family were able to move out of the apartment and into their first home.  With a greatly enlarged income he was able to get rid of the junk car and buy a new Ford. He criss-crossed the country by air and by car in those early years, and he would routinely drive a 100,000 miles a year. As his income increased, they were able to drive the cars of their choice, were able to live in larger and more comfortable homes, and were able to provide educations for their children and to travel to some exotic locations. He didn’t view his achievements as extraordinary, he just did what he needed to do. To keep on keeping on! To go the distance.

It wasn’t easy. There was a debilitating sporting accident. There were businesses setbacks with a resulting bankruptcy. One can’t acquire the knowledge and learn the needed lessons, if things always work out as desired on the first attempt. And then at the age of fifty one, he began to further educate himself and earned advanced degrees in a new field.

Today he’s considered to be an expert in that field. He’s a sought after public speaker in demand to address corporations, civic groups and sports organization throughout country. So you might ask, was the price too high? The price of success in the long run is less than the price of failure. It’s always been and will continue to be that way It’s always too early to quit.

Are you on the verge of quitting? Of throwing in the towel? Why not call Bob Crow at 404.277.1827 for a no cost consultation and examine ways to kick start your career? To move into the next chapter of your life? To reinvent yourself? The story above is just one of thousands that happen every day in this great country.

What if… at any step of the way he would have quit? What if you quit?
