Weight loss… it must really be new behavior!
Individuals come to see me to overcome addictions, alcoholism, anger, anxiety, confidence, Crohn’s Disease and IBS, marriage counseling, PTSD, sales, career and sports performance, sleep disorders, and the list goes on – but an incredibly large percentage of them come for permanent weight loss. And… we have great success in our permanent weight loss program.
Our program for permanent weight loss has three phases and in order to achieve permanent weight loss – all three phases must be followed! One or even two won’t do it. For permanent weight loss the program must be completed.
First the individual finishes the weight loss phase. After the desired weight loss achieved – one must move into the re feeding phase. Re feeding is followed by life time maintenance. This is continuing and practicing the true behavioral changes that were accomplished during the weight loss and re feeding parts of our program.
Conventional weight loss programs fail because there is no permanent behavioral change. I hear popular radio personalities once a year, year after year extolling the virtues of this or that program. But… if those programs really worked, why do they gain their weight back each year?
One cannot continue with the same eating habits and patterns that made them heavy in the first place if they want their weight loss to be permanent, but almost all folks want to! Crazy isn’t it? If behaving a certain way towards food makes one heavy – why return to it? But with conventional diets there is no tool that enables permanent behavioral change!
